Instagram in photography

Okay so feel free to click away from this if you want to, since really all it is, is a comparison of the app instagram and what people consider "actual photography".

So in case you are still interested in reading this, here it is:

In case you do not know what instagram is, it's an app that people use to take photos then simply add a filter to make themselves, or what ever they are taking, look retro or somewhat old like. When instagram came out, I wasn't able to download the free app, since at the time I did not own an ipad/tablet/smartphone of any kind. But later I recieved my mother's old droid and I then downloaded the app. When I downloaded it, I took a few photos of something outside, and I remember the first photo I took, was of a grasshopper that was really big, and allowed me to get really close. (Picture to the right).

Now I know a lot of people say that instagram is an amature way of taking photos and what not of objects, and that it is the joke of photography, should not even be
considered photography etc. etc. To me, I think that instagram is something that can add on to what you have created. Add a cool hue to it that makes it more interesting. Though I do understand how annoying it is to some people who take a thousand photos of themselves via instagram and post them on facebook, myspace (if anyone still uses that), twitter, flicker whatever.

Of course now you maybe wondering what made me say this, and that would be because when I uploaded a few pics for my photography section I had a few Instagram photos and I felt the need to make a point about it. I'm not saying I'm all for it and what not, I just think it's kind of gotten a bad rap. that's all.

Wargon Fan Art

Description: 768 X 1024 Digital Painting
This of course was created very recently, April 2013, right after my previous creation, "Draenei". Another fan art for the famous MMORPG, World of Warcraft. Which, of course is one of my favorite PC games.
