As of right now, the look of my blogsite has changed. With that, I also wanted to post a recent piece from my Sketchbook 2017 which will soon be available on deviant art.

This is just one of the recent pieces I did in my sketchbook, which includes the female figure and a few sketches of hair. (Description included in the drawing).
I was inspired to do this when I saw Mary Doodles latest video from her "How to Art" series called "How to Draw Hair". I watched the video because I really need practice on the art of drawing human hair. As you can very well see in this photo I have taken of my sketchbook.
Aside from my recent artwork, I would also like to talk about my recent photos. I haven't really updated my photography section of this blogsite in quite some time. So in this post I will share a few photos that I have taken recently and then I will put the rest in the updated section of photos I have taken. You will still be able to see the previous photos on my Deviant Art.
I would also like to say that I like to take photos of things with a lot of light. Because I feel like light makes things look more interesting. (Example would be the sample photo I posted entitled Recent Photos).
So without further ado, here are the recent photos that I have taken over the past few months. (with descriptions)
RIGHT: This is a photo of a rose that I took with my phone (iPhone 6s) and it was a pink rose that I gave my mother on Valentines Day when she was visiting me here in Milledgeville, GA. It almost reminds me of Beauty and The Beast. Except in that movie the rose was red instead of pink.
But still, it's a very pretty picture and I was inspired to take it when I had to sit the rose in an area filled with light. (to keep it alive till I saw her). The dust particles also added a magical touch to the photo as well.
LEFT: The photo to the left is a picture of these origami swans made of textured paper with coffee beans on them, along with some string lights (or Christmas lights). I took this photo using the selfie end on my phone.
Also due to the black ceiling I was able to get a rather interesting shot and I feel that the reflection in the window added an interesting feel to the photo.
RIGHT: Again with the cell phone, I took this picture of a church that is nearby. I never see anyone go in it, so I'm not sure if abandoned or what.
Due to a night class, I was passing by and felt the need to take a photo of this glorious semi gothic church. It looks like it belongs in England or something instead of a small southern town.
LEFT: This was one of those moments were it was a bit late at night and I happen to see a lady bug on my lamp. (which has beads that hang from it).
With that in mind, I zoomed in using my phone's camera and snapped a few shots of this little creature as it began to crawl along the beads. I think it looks rather elegant and lovely.
Also the filter I used for this is called Transfer. Also used another on Instagram but hardly added called Clarendon.
Eventually added the three shots to an app called Mixgram.
Haven't made a post in quite a while (as usual), so I figured that this time I would do a throwback to 2012 (five years ago) compared to now, 2017. In terms of how my work has changed and what I might go back to.
Music Suggestion:Since we are heading about five years back, lets put on this song by Three Days Grace called Time of Dying. (because it was my favorite at the time).
While that is playing in the background, let me continue to those days. At the time my artwork was more vivid in color and I was looking to experiment in more controversial types of art and work that involved drawing monsters or anything related to the Angel comics.
If you don't know what Angel is:It was an old TV show that aired in the late 90's and was a spin-off on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. After the show was cancelled these comics were released, and ever since I discovered Angel Omnibus Volume 1, I was hooked on not only the show (which is on Netflix) but the comics as well.
Here are a few sample pieces to show:
Right:The one to the right was called Forbidden Planet after the movie made in the 50's under the same name. It was an assignment in Art class (High School), which was to re-create a poster for an old movie and I chose this. At the time, I didn't have access to Photoshop, so I ended up using GIMP (which I still use today aside from Photoshop).
What it says:Do you dare enter the Forbidden planet? Many have tried, few have survived. Starring: Lady Gaga (because people joked about her being an alien for some reason), George Cloony, Mac the Computer, Will Ferral (as a the silly drunk), Daniel Radcliff, Rupert Grint, Anderson Cooper and many more...
(I was just making up stuff but it's still interesting).
Left:Entitled Gary the Sea monster, this was originally a sketch that I made at the time when I was texting some friend of mine, and for some reason ended up making this monster that looks kind of adorable. The clay model of him ended up being a lot more interesting. Which I will show at the end of this post. I can't remember exactly what I drew this with, all I remember using was green marker and some sharpies. Along with some white colored pencil.
The Next One:
This by far is my favorite from 2012, and even though I have never played the game, I watched the walkthrough (I was interested), and just loved the game and still want to see a sequel to the game.
This is a cover I designed for Bulletstorm (another assignment) and I basically just threw together a bunch of scenes from the game and added my own touch to it. "Kill off Mutant Enemies" and "Fight with W.P Tally Licker".
As you can see here my work was a bit controversial but not as much so in a sense compared to what I do now. Though aside from these pieces, I have
done some form of photography styles that can
still be seen on this blog. A few I will post as well towards the end.
Now lets fast forward to today and compare.
RIGHT:This piece pretty much has no real title other then that it was an inspirational piece of something I saw on Deviant Art. This kind of looks a bit more tribal and combines my love of castles, the moon and night time in general. It is a mix of my past and present in that in my past I used to doodle a lot of images of a small castle next to a field with the moon up above in the sky. I'm not sure why I did, probably because I loved fantasy stories.
LEFT:Adding to my long list of Fan Art, comes this Eyepot from the game Alice: Madness Returns. A game that when I first saw it, I immediately became inspired. To me, the game was like a goth version of Alice in Wonderland, yet still containing it's childlike appearance. (sort of).
It is a very odd game but for some reason I am drawn to it. The story line is very strange too, since it appears that Wonderland is all in her (Alice) head. I would give an example, but I don't want to spoil anything.
This here is one of the creatures that you fight in the game, called the Eyepot. (Kind of sounds like an apple invention gone wrong). They are very annoying but for some reason I want a replica to put on my desk because at the same time, they are incredibly awesome to look at.
Quick Comparison:
I would say that my work now is more planned then it used to be. Before, I would just grab a piece of paper and draw out whatever came to mind whether it was good or awful. It sounds like a decent method, but as someone who plans on majoring in Art (digital), I had to start planning my work in order to make it a bit more precise (unlike my posts that I make on my blog which is full of typos, ha ha).

Alice: Return to Wonderland
Even though the sequel is called Alice: Through the Looking Glass.
Recently I had time to review some old YouTube videos that I haven't seen in quite some time. One being the original Shoes video by Liamkylesulliven.

Shoes came out in the year 2007 which featured Liam's character named Kelly who after getting mad with her family for giving her a lame birthday present (and giving her brother a computer and a car) goes out to the mall (in LA) and buys herself a ton of shoes. (while singing about shoes)
Basically shoes was one of those YouTube videos that everyone in school seemed to have watched at least once and imitated at least a dozen times when going shopping.
The video itself is very random and very creative at the same time. During the years of the early 2000's, Liam came out with other videos including No Booty Calls, Text Message Breakup and Let me Borrow that top. All of which are rather catchy and people to this day still watch. Other videos he released were vlog type videos that featured the character Kelly's best friend Heather The Vampire.

HEATHER THE VAMPIRE
(Right) Heather (played by Megahn Perry) is a 605 year old vampire who did a series of vlogs with her dad Lou Campbell (played by Michael Cornacchia) and occasionally the creepy "Uncle Ric" (Ric Barbera). Each vlog featured Heather the vampire and her dad answering real questions submitted by fans via Facebook.
The vlogs are very entertaining to watch and are very funny. One of the funniest videos includes Heather, Her Dad and Uncle Ric and they are going over about how a person knows if they are a vampire. In which, in the end has one of the funnier moments in which Uncle Ric gets kicked out.
OPINION
I'm not really sure why this series ended, with Heather's Vlogs and the Kelly videos but I hope that they return some day soon. Because they were fun to watch and fun to look forward to.
Once again, I played a game other then World of Warcraft (and Bioshock). I realize this came out two years ago, but I just got it a few months ago, so I might as well contribute to the reviews. In case you don't know what The Sims is, it's basically a game created by EA, and has been played for quite some time. Most popular being Sims 2 and 3. The Sims is a virtual version of playing with dolls, or to be more technical, it's a real like simulator that looks more like a 3D cartoon, where you create your own sim family, and just live in your sim world.

The attractive side of The Sims, for people like myself, is the ability to customize your own character or sim and sort of create your own storyline for that sim. You can build your sim an epic house/mansion (By using the money cheat), get your sim a job, and mess around with other sims. (By mess around I mean torturing your sims by removing the toilet or letting them starve. or am I the only one that does that?) Now that you have an idea of what this game is, let us move on to the review. The Sims 4 is much different then sims 3. Given that now, everything is less 3D and more 2D. Things look more cartoonish (unless you download mods), and in a sense, you are able to customize your house a bit easier then you would have in Sims 3. Now the only thing about Sims 3, is that everything looks more real yet not so real at the same time.
The Sims 3 (Supernatural Expansion)
Okay, so lets move on to the Pros and Cons of this game. The pros of this game are:that you can customize your house/mansion more or even better then Sims 2 or 3 (in build mode that is). You can also, with expansions, create your own epic work environment and in a sense make it your own game. The customization for your sim is actually a lot more fun and less annoying in the sense, that your game does not crash as often and there are hardly any glitches (unless you have mods. then it can glitch some). It also reminds myself a bit of the Sims Social (Which was a facebook game that no longer exists now, which kind of sucks
because it was really cool). Here are the Cons of this game (what's not so good): Despite being able to customize many things, there are a TON of drawbacks. Unless you download mods, (like custom
Sims 4 More modded Sims
wallpaper, skins etc), you have little selection of decor for the game. Also, everything tends to look the same throughout. The sims themselves can be rather annoying, especially when customizing the faces. The other con, is that when your sim is going somewhere, there is a load screen. Unlike Sims 3, you can not actually travel. You now have a load screen in between times your sim travels. And that load screen can take forever. Also, there isn't much to do really, unless you pay roughly $10-$20 for an expansion or stuff pack, you don't really get much out of the base game. Also, the camera can be really annoying, it moves all over the place, and until you figure out how to operate it, it can drive you nuts. Also with Sims 3 you have these incredible expansions that allow you to travel through time to the future, throw potions on people and turn them into mutant zombies, witches, fairies, mummies, werewolves or even create a genie. Sims 4 doesn't really have that. At least not yet. What I recommend: The Sims 4 is fun. Despite not have a lot of customization, load screens and downloading mods, it's actually fun. Reason being, is that your Sims have more of a personality. They are fun to watch and it can be even funnier when you get them in to odd social interactions. The other side, is if you want to customize a lot, you can just press build. No need for cheats or any annoying accidental pressing things. Plus, Sims 4 does have expansions. They are a bit more then Sims 3 Expansions, but you can get new zones and more interactions. EA has yet to come out with future ones similar to sims 3, but when they do, people will probably want it more then sims 3. Combatting Problems: As a quick note, given that this took me forever to figure out, if you want to combat these issues with your Sims 4 game do the following: > Go to the game menu. You can do this by pressing ESC on your keyboard or clicking the dotted button over to the right in the corner. > Click on Game Options > Disable Laptop Mode. If you have downloaded mods then this is crucial that you do this. Reason being, is that it prevents any glitches that your Sims may have (Outlined hair being one of them). > Camera Settings In camera settings you can click on Sims 3 camera and it should help. > If you do not have a mouse press the tab button on your keyboard to help tip the camera. Everything disappears but when you press it again, it re-appears. > If you DO own a mouse use the rubber scroller thing on your mouse (the roundish thing in the middle of your mouse) to zoom in or out, or if you press down and move your mouse up or down, you can adjust the camera. > When downloading mods put your customization items such as skins, eyes, clothes, etc for your sim into the folder labeled Mods (on your computer). Put the items such as Houses into the Tray folder. (For more info on this go to the help section on The Sims Resource). If you are interesting in the gameplay or watching how it is played, I recommend watching M.A.G on YouTube. The way they present The Sims 4 is actually very realistic and they themselves are hilarious to listen to. Down below are some links to The Sims page and to MAG (YouTube). It's been a while since I've last posted on this blog. In saying so, I have decided to post a link to my deviantart in the post, that leads to pictures of my recent sketches. The sketchbook itself is from Moleskine, and is not large but rather a medium size. Perfect for travel and easier to keep up with. The sketches inside are various ones from January up to now (September).
I had a leftover piece of thick glossy coated (sort of) card paper that came with a Angel Comic, and decided to use it as something to draw on. I would have done a more detailed pen and ink, but decided to go with something a little different. I may add to it later one, but given that I just replaced my small ink tank in my asian pen, I decided to add in my initials MS in gothic lettering.
As usual, I did a bit more of a nightfall/fantasy pen and ink, that was a bit stylized. It had been a while since I really did more of a fantasy drawing, and I intend on doing more of these. Most of the drawings I do are my own stylized version of the game World of Warcraft. Though in the past I have done a few that were original ideas.
Recently, the more "original" ideas have been done and are labeled "Original".
